The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has vowed to provide a credible opposition by holding the government accountable through transparent elections, inclusive policies, and greater participation of women and youths at both the state and national levels.
This commitment was emphasized by Senator David Mark, the ADC National Chairman, during the Karu Stakeholders maiden meeting in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
At the Karu ADC Maiden Stakeholders Meeting, members and supporters across the eleven electoral wards of the area gathered for the official launch of the party’s logo and to reaffirm the party’s vision of building a people-focused government.
ADC National Chairman, Senator David Mark, represented by his Chief of Staff, Senator Suleiman Asonya Adokwe, Senator Mark said the party is a coalition of individuals from diverse political backgrounds, united by a shared goal of ensuring government accountability.
Senator Mark also stressed the party’s commitment to 40 percent female representation and increased youth participation in governance to enable more Nigerians to benefit from the dividends of democracy.
On his part, the ADC Chairman of Karu Local Government Steering Committee and former Minister of Environment, Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, explained that the meeting was aimed at mobilising supporters ahead of the general elections, with a strong focus on tackling the nation’s socio-economic challenges.
He urged Nigerians who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so, reiterating the party’s commitment to credibility, truth, and fairness in the electoral process.
Meanwhile, the ADC Chairman in Nasarawa State, Mr. Williams Godwin Alaku, and the State Women Leader, Pastor Mrs. Alice Ishaku, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and encouraged members to shun divisive politics and engage constructively with supporters of other parties.
The event featured the unveiling of the ADC party logo and the chanting of party slogans, marking a significant step in the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.
