Nasarawa State police command has arrested twenty-five suspected kidnappers and armed rubber in different parts of the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Mohammed Jauro stated this during a media briefing in Lafia, the state capital.
CP Shetima Mohammed said the police command is working hard to flush out criminals from the State while those arrested would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
He explained that the command arrested twenty four suspected kidnappers and one armed rubber between August and October, this year with three fire arms and eight ammunition recovered.
“On 5th October 2025, at about 0900 hours, a complaint was lodged at Azara Division that unknown armed men attacked one road users along Akiri feeder road, Azara Development area of Awe LGA. A patrol team was immediately deployed to the scene, where one Mohammed Alhaji Giginya, of Kumar Village, was arrested while attempting to flee,” he added.
CP Shetima stated that investigation revealed that one of the suspected kidnappers Yahaya Suleiman of Akwanga local government area belongs to a kidnapping gang responsible for the abduction of the son of the Emir of Takum local government area in Taraba State.
He assured the public that all the suspects will be charge to court to face the wrath of the law.
The State police Commissioner also urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by providing credible information that will assist the command in the fight against crime.
The surge in kidnappings and other crimes in recent time in different parts of Nasarawa State has remained a major concern to many stakeholders in the State.
