The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has felicitated with Christians in the state on the occasion of Christmas, assuring residents of a hitch-free and peaceful celebration.
In a statement signed by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, CSP William Aya, the Commissioner said the Command has put in place comprehensive security measures to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the festive period.
According to the statement, measures for a peaceful celebration include the deployment of adequate police personnel, enhanced patrols, intelligence-led operations, visibility policing, and the strategic positioning of officers at worship centres, recreational facilities, major highways, markets, and other public places across the state.
Personnel drawn from conventional police units, the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Motor Traffic Department, Safer Highway Patrol, and other tactical formations have been mobilised to maintain law and order, prevent criminal activities, and ensure a safe Christmas celebration.
CP Kankarofi charged officers to remain professional, courteous, and firm but civil in the discharge of their duties.
He also urged residents to be law-abiding and vigilant, and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station, security personnel, or through the Command’s emergency lines.
The statement reaffirmed the Kogi State Police Command’s commitment to proactive policing and the protection of lives and property throughout the festive season.
